Number of teachers suffering from coronavirus decreased in Chisinau

Chisinau, 15 November /MOLDPES/- The number of teachers infected with coronavirus has fallen in Chisinau.

The interim head of the General Directorate of Youth Education and Sports, Andrei Pavaloi, said at today's meeting of the municipal services that on November 8-14, 61 cases of COVID-19 infection were registered in the municipal educational institutions in among students and nine cases of coronavirus among teachers.

"Nine new cases of COVID-19 infection have been detected among teachers, the total number of infected teachers is 34 people," the official said.

Chisinau mayor Ion Ceban said that people working in medicine and education are immunized in a proportion of over 95 percent.

"About 97 percent of medical staff employed in municipal health institutions are immunized against COVID-19, and teachers in municipal educational institutions have an immunization rate of 96 percent," Ceban said.
