Operations at Tudora Customs suspended after suspicious object found in Ukrainian citizen’s luggage
The operations of Tudora customs post, on the entry lane into the Republic of Moldova have been temporarily suspended after customs officers detected an object suspected of being an explosive mechanism in the luggage of a Ukrainian citizen.
According to the Customs Service, the 63-year-old man arrived for inspection in his personal car. Following checks carried out by customs officers together with border police, a suspicious object was identified in a container located in the luggage.
In line with procedures, the customs post area was immediately isolated, and the intervention team of the technical-explosive service “Bombteh” of the General Police Inspectorate was called to the scene. Authorities stated that, at present, there are no people or vehicles within the perimeter of the customs post.
The situation is being managed promptly by all competent institutions, and specific measures are underway. Representatives of the Customs Service have announced that they will provide additional information depending on how the case evolves.
