Two localities in Vulcănești district cut off power supply

Several electricity outages were reported on Wednesday, February 18, in the central and southern regions of the Republic of Moldova, in the context of the Orange Warning issued by the State Hydrometeorological Service. According to data provided by Premier Energy Distribution, 1,233 supply interruptions were recorded.

According to the distribution operator, two localities in the Vulcănești district were partially affected: the village of Alexandru Ioan Cuza and the village of Etulia. To fix the faults, 16 intervention crews were mobilized, each team consisting of 2 to 5 people, including linemen and construction workers, depending on the complexity of the field work.

In the northern part of the country, RED-Nord did not report any outages, according to the available operational information.

The situation is being continuously monitored, and the teams are intervening to restore the electricity supply in the affected localities.

Authorities warn that, according to the forecast for February 18, heavy precipitation and strong wind gusts are expected. In this context, the population is urged to exercise increased caution if they notice power lines that have fallen to the ground or are hanging from poles, and to explain electrical safety rules to children.

People who identify dangerous situations, including power lines fallen on streets or near educational institutions, are asked to immediately inform the distribution operators at the following phone numbers: 022 43 11 11 (Premier Energy Distribution) or +37323124201 (RED Nord).
