The third volume of the illustrated encyclopedia series Animals was launched at the Academy of Sciences of Moldova. This work is part of a scientific project in 10 volumes, created by Professor Tudor Cozari – a remarkable researcher, co-author, and member of the Commission for editing the Red Book of the Republic of Moldova.

The work was carried out with the support of the Ministry of Environment and will reach schools and libraries throughout the country, to contribute to educating a new generation that will take care of Moldova's natural heritage.


"We strongly support projects dedicated to nature conservation and promoting ecological education. In this regard, we have initiated, in collaboration with the Institute of Zoology and the Botanical Garden, an extensive research plan on ecological state of species, which will form the basis of the fourth edition of the Red Book. The project is also supported by the Environment Fund," Minister of Environment Sergiu Lazarencu said.


At the same time, the ministry welcomes the recent initiative by Professor Tudor Cozari to create a digital Zoological Atlas.


"This is a large-scale project that will include over 2000 pages and 3000 color images, dedicated to faunal biodiversity at the national, regional and European levels. We express our openness to support this innovative endeavor," the country's main environmental authority said.
