Moldovans working in Ukraine to be able to receive pensions and other social benefits

Moldovans who work in Ukraine will be able to receive pensions and other social benefits. This will be possible after the bilateral Social Security Agreement was signed yesterday by Minister of Labour and Social Protection Natalia Plugaru and Minister of Social Policy, Family and Unity of Ukraine Denys Uliutin.

The document was signed during the High-Level Conference on Social Rights – European Social Charter, which took place in Chișinău.

The agreement will allow people who have worked legally in the Republic of Moldova or in Ukraine to receive pensions, as well as other essential social benefits.

“In these difficult times, marked by regional and global challenges, solidarity and cooperation are more important than ever. The Republic of Moldova stands with the Ukrainian people and supports efforts to ensure social protection for all citizens,” said Natalia Plugaru.

Previously, the authorities announced that at least 20,000 citizens will benefit from the implementation of this agreement.

So far, the Republic of Moldova has signed 19 social security agreements with Romania, the Portuguese Republic, the Republic of Bulgaria, the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, the Republic of Austria, the Republic of Estonia, the Czech Republic, the Republic of Poland, Hungary, the Kingdom of Belgium, the Republic of Lithuania, the Federal Republic of Germany, the Republic of Turkey, the Republic of Belarus, the Hellenic Republic, the Italian Republic, the Kingdom of Spain, the Republic of Latvia and the French Republic.
