Four new judges today took the oath before the Superior Council of Magistracy (CSM). The event marks the completion of a rigorous stage of selection and verification of candidates’ integrity.
During the ceremony, the new magistrates swore to respect the Constitution and the laws of the country, to defend human rights and freedoms and to fulfill with honor, conscience and impartiality the duties incumbent upon them. Starting this moment, the judges may wear the robe and exercise their functional responsibilities in the courts to which they have been appointed.
The new judges were appointed by a decree of President Maia Sandu, signed on January 21, this year. They are: Ion Bocan, appointed as a magistrate at the Chisinau Court, Mihail Josanu at the Orhei Court, Maxim Melnic at the Balti Court and Ana Schibin at the Ungheni Court.
The new judges are part of the group of candidates proposed by the CSM Decision from July 25, 2025, whose appointment was preceded by an advanced vetting process carried out by the presidential institution.
