Chisinau, 1 October /MOLDPRES/ - Specialists of the intensive therapy sections from the republican, municipal and district medical institutions will coordinate the serious cases of infection with COVID-19 through an online platform of technical guidance.
According to the press service of the Health, Labour and Social Protection Ministry (MSMPS), the new mechanism will allow communication, including the transmission and taking over of data, video pictures and data, between the intensive therapy sections of the Republican Clinical Hospital and the Emergency Medicine Institute with other intensive therapy sections from municipal and district hospitals. Thus, the treatment of patients in extremely serious condition will be consulted with specialists from third hospitals and a decision of the case’s management will be taken, including the patient’s transfer to the concerned institution, if needed.
„In the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, the medical system’s digitalization is essential for improving the quality of medical services provided to citizens. The implementation of this component will contribute to the optimization of the flow of patients from district and municipal medical institutions to republican ones. Twenty tablets were distributed today and another 80 devices will be soon supplied, so that the connection will all medical institutions of Moldova is ensured,’’ Health, Labour and Social Protection Minister Viorica Dumbraveanu said.
At the same time, trainings and specializations for intensive therapy physicians will be periodically carried out through this platform.
According to MSMPS data, those 20 tablets distributed today in the intensive therapy sections were donated by a mobile telephony company.
