Schools in Chișinău to operate online this week
Schools in the municipality of Chișinău will operate online this week. The announcement was made today by the mayor of the capital, Ion Ceban, following the worsening weather conditions and the risks caused by icy roads.
According to the mayor, the decision was taken during discussions with representatives of educational institutions.
“We have decided that until the end of the week, children will study online. The decision was made based on the forecasts received from the State Hydrometeorological Service and on the recommendation of specialists,” said Ion Ceban.
Educational activities in the educational institutions of the municipality of Chișinău were suspended on Monday and Tuesday. The decision was approved after a meeting of the specialized services of the city hall, following the widespread formation of ice, which creates an increased risk of slipping and injuries.
The authorities emphasize that the measure is aimed at protecting the safety of students, teaching staff, and parents. The suspended educational activities will be rescheduled later, according to a timetable that will be additionally communicated by the educational institutions.
