Searches made in Chisinau, Hancesti in file on cutting of more than 1,400 trees

Chisinau, 29 May /MOLDPRES/ - Prosecutors have carried out 13 searches in a file on illegal cutting of more than 1,400 trees in Hancesti, with a damage inflicted amounting to about 680,000 lei (about 34,000 euros).

According to the General Police Inspectorate (IGP), the raids were made in the settlements Hancesti and Chisinau, including at a factory of pellets from the central Hancesti district. During the actions, law-enforcers detected quantities of wood without acts of origin and raised accounting documents, unofficial registers on money received and the wood managed at the Hancesti-based forestry enterprise.

At the same time, the law-enforcers discovered tens of copies of identity papers of presumably interposed persons, through whom the wood was discounted/sold, as well as proxies from the mayoralty for the release/sale of wood to other people.

Law-enforcers continue the investigations, in order to establish all circumstances of the case.
