Disinformation campaign on TikTok platform; Moldova's General Police Inspectorate says accounts created to mislead, manipulate society
The General Inspectorate of Police (IGP) warns of a disinformation campaign on the TikTok platform. Law-enforcers are detecting hundreds of accounts daily that spread thousands of videos with false content.
According to IGP, accounts created to deceive and manipulate society, in the context of the next September parliamentary elections and Russia's aggressive war against Ukraine, are being detected and documented.
‘’In most cases, video content is created using artificial intelligence, targeting state officials, public figures, or citizens. Law-enforcers constantly notify the competent authorities about these cases,’’ IGP said.
In the context, the institution urges citizens to exhibit critical thinking and report falsehoods.
