There is connection between murder at Galaxy terrace, Gorbuntov and Usatii - Moldovan Interior Minister says
Chisinau, 3 December /MOLDPRES/- There is a connection between the 2011 criminals on the Galaxy terrace in Chisinau, Gherman Gorbunţov, Renato Usatîi and „Universalbank. Interior Minister Alexandru Jizdan made the statement at an interview with MOLDPRES Agency.
The statement was made after the minister was asked about the September 2011 murder at the Galaxy terrace, situated in the central of the capital on 31 August 1989. Ion Soltoianu, double world champion in kickboxing, shot at a short distance former police officer Ion Stratulat, the bodyguard of businessman Gherman Gorbuntov. After the murder, Alexandru Jizdan left the position of head of operational service department of MAI.
“There is no connection between my dismissal and this crime. Moreover, there is also a conviction on the case of Ion Soltoianu, a final sentence. It was about the connection between Ion Stratulat and Universalbank, and not to give information that may be construed, it should go to police investigators, prosecutors who investigated this case and they will most likely tell the truth”, Jizdan said.
At the same time, the interior minister hinted that there was a connection between the nominees and Universalbank, Gherman Gorbuntov and Renato Usatii, so the version that the murder is related to the takeover of Universalbank actions by Usatii has the right to life.
In another context, Jizdan reiterated that a court order is issued on behalf of Usatii, but there is also a request by MAI on his search on Interpol channels.
More statements and comments by Jizdan can be traced in the video interview on the electronic page of MOLDPRES AIS (moldpres.md).
