Report of Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development: Moldova makes progress in justice, anti-corruption efforts

Moldova has made progress in the fields of justice and anti-corruption. This is the conclusion of the report of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), adopted during the plenary meeting of the Anti-Corruption Network for Eastern Europe and Central Asia.

The report confirms clear improvements in the period of 2023–2024 in such areas as: anti-corruption policies (+9.9 points), protection of whistleblowers (+16.8 points), integrity in public procurement (+14 points), independence of the judiciary (+6.1 points), and independence of the prosecution (+7.6 points).

The results were welcomed by Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Cristina Gherasimov.

“In recent years, a lot of work has been done to clean up the justice system of corruption, and the first results are already visible. We will continue the reforms in the justice sector, so that each citizen can trust that justice works for everybody and that the law is the same for everyone,” said Cristina Gherasimov.

The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development consists of 38 member countries. It was founded in 1961, in order to stimulate economic progress and world trade. The OECD is a platform designed to coordinate its members' domestic and international policies.
