VIDEO // Prime Minister announces resumption of drinking water supply in four districts in north of country
The resumption of drinking water supply in the districts of Bălți, Soroca, Sângerei and Florești was announced today by Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu, following the confirmation of safety indicators through laboratory analyses. The decision comes after a period of interruption caused by the need for technical interventions at Cosăuți pumping station.
According to the prime minister, the supply process is being carried out in stages, under the supervision of technical teams that worked to remedy the situation. Recent analyses of water quality have shown that it falls within safe limits for human consumption, which has allowed the reopening of distribution networks to the affected localities.
The safety measures previously put in place, including the operation of special filters installed at treatment plants, will be maintained for an indefinite period. Intervention teams remain mobilized in the field to monitor delivery parameters and provide rapid technical assistance in case of new fluctuations in the system.
Munteanu is paying a working visit today to the northern region of the country to inspect on site the functionality of the water supply systems and the final stage of maintenance works. The authorities noted that water quality monitoring will continue with increased frequency in the coming days in all communities where the service has been restored.
