Youth organizations can get grants of up to 600,000 lei from state

Youth organizations can benefit from grants of up to 600,000 lei to implement projects aimed at young people. The program was launched by the Ministry of Education and Research (MEC) and the National Youth Agency (ANT), and applications for the competition can be submitted until November 15.

Thus, the funding provided for projects implemented at the local level is 200,000 lei, for regional projects – 400,000 lei, and for national projects, grants of up to 600,000 lei are offered.

“One of our objectives through the Grant Program is precisely to strengthen civil society. The association of young people in organizations is an indicator of good governance and democracy. It is important to us that young people can associate, starting from school, at university, and continuing with employment, so that we have as many active, proactive leaders involved in civil society and non-profit organizations,” said Alexandr Petrov, Director of the National Youth Agency.

The authorities have estimated a budget of 20 million lei for 2026 to support youth programs. In addition to offering grants, MEC and ANT have announced the launch of the 2030 Government Program for the Development of Youth Centers and Youth Capital Program for 2026 and 2027.

The 2030 Youth Centers Development Program includes three components. The first refers to the development of human resources, to which youth center workers and managers are invited to apply. The second component concerns the infrastructure development of youth centers, within which local public authorities can benefit from funding of up to 200,000 lei for purchasing equipment for youth centers. The third component provides funding of up to 300,000 lei for creating new youth centers.

At the same time, MEC and ANT urged local public authorities to prepare to apply for Youth Capital 2026 and 2027 competition. The deadline is November 1. Youth Capital is a national program aimed at supporting local public authorities in developing effective youth policies at the local level.

“We encourage all parties interested in the mentioned Programs to contact MEC or ANT for guidance, information, and support in completing the application forms, explaining how funds can be budgeted, if there is a need for additional funds, how to demonstrate the expenses that are eligible, and how own contributions can be demonstrated,” explained Marin Marcel, head of the Youth and Sports Policy Directorate within the Ministry of Education and Research.

This year, Youth Capital is the city of Edineț, which benefited from financing of about 3 million lei to implement youth-targeted programs, and local authorities doubled this amount.

According to MEC data, in 2025, authorities invested nearly 1 million dollars in financing civil society organizations that implement activities with and for youth.
