Moldovan President invites citizens to Forest Festival

Head of state Maia Sandu has invited citizens to participate in the Forest Festival, which will take place on 14 September at the Presidential Residence in Condrița. The President emphasized that the event is open to everyone who loves the forest and wishes for a greener future for our country.

'Friends of nature, the Forest Festival returns on September 14, at the Presidential Residence in Condrița. The doors will be open for all who love the forest and desire a greener future for our country,' stated Maia Sandu.

Organizers have prepared various activities for participants, including workshops, interactive exhibitions, thematic discussions, and a fair with organic products.

'I encourage you to come to the Festival, where a day full of activities awaits you: workshops, interactive exhibitions, thematic discussions, and a fair with organic products. It is an opportunity to meet, learn, and enjoy the beauty of nature together,' stressed the President.

The head of state added that Moldova grows beautifully when we choose to invest in nature.

'This spring, thanks to the joint effort of over 5,500 people, we planted 777,000 saplings. We are the Forest Generation and in just two years, we have managed to afforest over 15,000 hectares - and we will not stop here,' concluded Maia Sandu.

The Forest Festival is organized by the Ministry of Environment and the Environmental Journalists Association, in partnership with the Office of the President of the Republic of Moldova, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and Lafarge Moldova, with the support of Slovenia.

Participation in the festival and most activities is free, except for the fair area. Organizers will provide transportation from Chișinău and back throughout the day.

The event is part of the National Reforestation Program, launched in 2023 under the aegis of President Maia Sandu, aiming to reforest about 150,000 hectares in the next 10 years, through the joint effort of state institutions, non-governmental organizations and citizens.
