Moldova wins gold medals at Judo European Para Championships

Chisinau, August 10 /MOLDPRES/- Athletes Oleg Crețul and Ion Basoc won two gold medals at the Judo European Para Championships.

Five Moldovan athletes participated in the international competition, under the guidance of coach Vitalie Gligor. Oleg Crețul, representing the weight category up to 90 kg, and Ion Basoc, fighting in the +90 kg category triumphed ranking first. Ina Cernei and Vadim Crețu ranked 5th, and Oleg Nemțean - 7th.

The Ministry of Education and Research (MEC) has announced that it will award cash prizes to athletes and coaches at the Sports Gala at the end of the year.

The event was held on August 8-10 in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
