Chisinau, 1 November /MOLDPRES/ - The first international festival dedicated to the popular art for children, Besarab Folk, has been organized in the Taraclia city, with the financial support of the Association for Development of Bulgarian Community from Moldova (ARBOM). About 100 collectives of children from the Taraclia district, UTA Gagauzia, as well as from Bulgaria participated in the event.

„Even if we live outside our Motherland, we continue to promote and conserve the Bulgarian language and culture. We preserve with love the devotion for our land. This is our spiritual mission and an example for the nations which value their heritage,’’ the president of the Taraclia District Council, Lazari Dermenji, said.

The festival dedicated to the popular art for children, Besarab Folk, took place on 29 October, on the Day of Bessarabian Bulgarians and was the first of the kind organized in Taraclia. The honorary guests present at the event were delighted by the talent of the children.

„Bear the Bulgarian spirit with pride; preserve the longing for the historical Motherland, preserve piously the identity, culture and traditions. May the spark of the Bulgarian culture and language turns into an eternal flame for the next generations,’’ Ambassador of Bulgaria to Moldova Maya Dobreva said at the event.

The festival was organized by the Culture and Tourism Department of the Taraclia district and the regional Arts School. The district’s leadership highly appreciated ARBOM’s support for the event’s organization and handed a letter of thanks to the director of the Association for Development of Bulgarian Community from Moldova.

„Our association immediately accepted to help this festival and we assumed all expenses for organization. We are aware that, without our support, this event ran the risk to no longer take place,’’ ARBOM director Alexandr Borimecicov said.

The Day of Bessarabian Bulgarians has been marked for 86 years already. On this period, the event became a proof of the devotion and respect of the ethnic Bulgarians from Moldova and Ukraine for their historical Motherland.
