Artists from Moldova, Romania to participate in festival dedicated to Centenary of Great Union

Chisinau, 11 September /MOLDPRES/ - Artists from Moldova and Romania will participate in the Centenary Fest festival, dedicated to the Centenary of the Union with Romania, due at the Vatra Cultural Centre, in the central Straseni district, on 15-16 September.  

According to the organizers, the goal of the festival is to promote the Romanian values and highlight the diversity and, at the same time, the common traditions, which stay at the basis of the historical, linguistic and cultural unity of this nation.  

Diverse genres of music for all age categories have been included in the artistic programme. Thus, the bands Lupii (The Wolves) & Alex Calancea Band, Moldovan National Youth Orchestra, Cristi Aldea-Teodorovici & Band, as well as Gandul Matei will give concerts on 15 September.   

Visitors will be able to watch a parade of Romanian national costume by fashion creators from Romania and Moldova, a contemporary art exhibition, Eleonora Romanescu, Elvira Cemortan-Voloșin, Gheorghe Sultan and Friends, open-air activities (throwing of axes, tiroliana, activities for children, walking on cinder, bath with ice, yoga and camp stake).

The well-known artists, such as Nicolae Furdui Iancu, Grigore Lese, Fuego, Irina Loghin, Benone Sinulescu, Ionut Dolanescu, Laura Haidau, Marioara Gheorghe Man, Ileana and Denisa, Tudor Ungureanu and the Stefan Voda Band, Osoianu sisters, folk bands from the Romanian counties of Constanta, Buzau, Ilfov, Mehedinti, Focsani, Cluj, Bihor, Prahova, Arad, Braila, Mures, Satu Mare, Targoviste, Dambovita, Neamt, Botosani, Maramures, Bacau, etc., the Muntenia Symphony Orchestra, Florin Georgescu, as well as folk bands will perform on 16 September.  

Organizers said that about 30,000 people from Moldova and Romania were expected to participate in the two days of the festival.
