Moldova accelerates digital transformation in culture with UN support

The implementation of the digitalization project in the cultural sector was discussed by Minister of Culture Cristian Jardan and UN Resident Coordinator in Moldova Yeşim Oruç. The initiative allows for the mapping of the country's creative industries, the development of the Creative Square platform, and the modernization of the technical base of the Academy of Music, Theatre, and Fine Arts, thus contributing to the increased competitiveness of creators and cultural institutions.

During the meeting, officials discussed the expansion of cooperation in culture, heritage, media, and tourism, as well as ongoing projects. Continued joint efforts will focus on the protection of monuments, digitalization of cultural processes, inventory and monitoring of national heritage, and the modernization of local cultural infrastructure.

At the end of the discussions, Jardan highlighted the important role of the UN in strengthening the cultural resilience of the Republic of Moldova, emphasizing the organization's contribution to the conservation of sites such as Tighina Fortress and Chisinau Circus.
