Moldovan actor, stage manager paid last respects

Chisinau, 10 January /MOLDPRES/ - A film and theatre actor, People’s Artist, one of the founders of the Luceafarul Theatre Vladimir Zaiciuc was paid his last respects today. The actor passed away on 8 January at the age of 84 years.     

Contacted by MOLDPRES, People’s Artist Paulina Zavtoni said that Vladimir Zaiciuc had been her stage colleague during 50 years. ‘’He was one of the founders of the Luceafarul Theatre. Zaiciuc worked at the theatre till 2008. He was a sincere man, who loved the theatre, people and life,’’ Paulina Zavtoni stressed.

At the mourning meeting, the head of the Theatre Union of Moldova, Alexandru Grecu, said that Vladimir Zaiciuc had been an example of service for the theatre, a king of the Luceafarul Theatre. At the same time, actor and stage manager Gheorghe Pietraru said the departed actor had been his spiritual father at the Luceafarul Theatre, stage partner in more plays.  

Actor Vladimir Zaiciuc was born in the Dubau village, eastern Dubasari district, on 4 November 1937. In 1960, he graduated from the Boris Shchukin Higher Theatre School from Moscow. In the autumn of the same year, Zaiciuc started his career at the Luceafarul Theatre. Vladimir Zaiciuc was also professor in the actor’s art discipline at the Gavriil Musicescu State Conservatoire from Chisinau during 1968-1980. He played in more plays.

Vladimir Zaiciuc was buried at the Central Orthodox Cemetery on the Armeneasca Street from Chisinau.
