Moldovan folk craftsman varnishes anniversary exhibition in Chisinau municipality
Chisinau, 28 February /MOLDPRES/ – An exhibition entitled: The spring emotions and fantasies in the creation of folk craftsman Ludmila Berezin, at 70 years anniversary, was opened at the National Museum of Ethnography and Natural History (MNEIN) today.
The event was organised by the host institution in collaboration with the National Centre for Conservation and Promotion of Immaterial Cultural Heritage (CNCPPCI).
According to Petru Vicol, acting as an animator of one of the most distinguished and longevive creative clubs in Moldova – the Interest Club Curcubeul – folk craftsman Ludmila Berezin capitalises the delicate world of home fabrics and lace. "The traditional craftsmanship specialists have highly appreciated the craftsmanship of Ludmila Berezin and the way she exploits the wide possibilities of combining the ornaments offered by the genre she practices. Taking a way back from urban to rural tradition, Ludmila Berezin currently possesses and transmits to other people new and old techniques of crochet and various embroidery points," said Petru Vicol.
Ludmila Berezin has a creative biography for over 25 years, along with members of the club Curcubeul, runs Sunday sessions at the MNEIN. The club gathers teachers of technological education and various professions and thus promotes in Moldovan society the passion for the art of crochet and embroidery.
The exhibition is open until 10 May.
