By 30 April citizens can direct 2% of income tax to non-governmental organizations
By 30 April, citizens can donate 2% of their income tax to non-governmental organizations to support a cause they believe in.
“Every taxpayer in the Republic of Moldova can decide where a part of their tax goes. It does not involve any additional cost – it's money that the state has already collected, and you have the power to choose where it will be directed,” said the government's spokesperson, Daniel Vodă.
This option is available to anyone who pays income tax and has no debts to the state.
The money can be redirected to non-governmental organizations that are officially registered and do not carry out political activities.
Citizens who wish to transfer a part of their income tax must fill in tax form, choose the desired organization from the official list, and submit the declaration by April 30.
According to statistics, last year, 35,175 taxpayers used this mechanism, and 14.5 million lei were directed to non-governmental organizations.
