Construction works of Chisinau Arena performed at rate of 20 per cent
Chisinau, 4 February /MOLDPRES/- Construction works of Chisinau Arena, launched last autumn, were made at a rate of 20 percent.
The Public Implementing Company Administrator, Radu Lupan, said that the foundation for Arena and Aquatic Center was laid down to this stage. At the same time, the workers are currently working on consolidating and building metal structures.
Over 200 workers are operating on the site. 60-70 per cent of them are citizens of Moldova.
By late last year, the Moldovan government earmarked 102 million lei for building the Chisinau Arena, under a government decision, and the private partner’s investments are already much higher. According to the public-private partnership contract, the money invested by the Turkish company carrying out the works will be repaid in half-yearly installments for 12 years from the launch of the construction.
The foundation stone of the Chisinau Arena was laid in October 2018 and it is to be put into operation within 12 months of the construction launch. Located near Stauceni, the complex, with a total area of 100,000 m2, will integrate the multi-purpose arena, Aqua Park, tennis club, resting places and parking. It will host about 5,000 visitors depending on the activities.
