Customs Service launched online tool to facilitate trade
Chisinau, March 29 / MOLDPRES /- Customs Service announced today that it has launched an online trade facilitation tool (ITC-WCO Rules of Origin Facilitator), which allows the identification of information related to trade agreements, customs duties applicable according to the final destination, rules of origin specific to each product, as well as information on certificates of origin.
According to the quoted source, the online search system was launched by the World Customs Organization (WCO) in conjunction with the International Trade Center (ITC).
Thus, economic operators involved in international trade have the opportunity to use this tool to consult information on rules of origin, price and competitiveness of manufactured products, as well as influence the decisions of companies on investment and identification of raw material suppliers.
Rules of origin are used to determine the country of origin of goods. Depending on the origin of the goods, preferential tariff treatment consisting of relief or reduction of customs duty may be applied to their importation.
The online tool is free and available at the following link: www.findrulesoforigin.org.
