Chisinau, Oct 3 /MOLDPRES/- Green Card insurance certificate, which all Moldovan citizens have to get when driving a car in another country will be digitalized.

The implementation period of the new digital process will last two months and will be divided into two stages. The first stage is transitional, from November 1, 2024 until December 31, 2024. During this time, paper-based insurance remains required. The second phase begins on January 1, 2025, when the document will be able to be submitted in digital format only.

The implementation of the transition will be carried out by insurance companies and intermediaries, and the National Bank of Moldova (BNM) will oversee the entire process.

Green Card insurance certificate is an international motor insurance document which certifies that the vehicle owned by the driver is covered by compulsory third party liability insurance when traveling outside the country of origin.
