Chisinau, July 17 /MOLDPRES/- The European Commission has selected 134 transport infrastructure projects to receive EU grants worth more than seven billion euros through the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF). Among the countries that will receive funding is the Republic of Moldova, for the rehabilitation of the access road to PTF Galati - Giurgiulesti - Reni.
In January, the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development (MIDR) submitted the file for the rehabilitation of the access road to PTF Galati - Giurgiulești - Reni and the construction of a bypass road around the village of Giurgiulești with a parking lot for trucks.
State Secretary for Road Infrastructure Nicolai Mîndra was present these days in Brussels, and participated in the 33rd Meeting of the Transport Committee of the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF).
The Connecting Europe Facility is the EU's most important instrument for supporting trans-European infrastructure projects. The money provided by the EU is earmarked for infrastructure projects, upgrades and improvements on the Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T), involving rail, inland waterways, sea or river ports and road infrastructure.
