
Natural gas' consumption decreases by 31 per cent in Moldova in last February
Chisinau, 10 March /MOLDPRES/ - As much as 93.9 million cubic metres of natural gas was consumed in February 2023, which is by 31.4 per cent less against the same period of the year before. At the same time, the consumption dropped by 22 million cubic metres or by about 2.3 per cent against last January. The Moldovagaz enterprise unveiled figures to this effect today.
According to Moldovagaz, compensations worth 552.3 million lei (27.6 million euros) were calculated for household consumers, over 577,000, in February 2023, depending on the energy vulnerability category assigned. Also, another 9.1 million lei was provided as compensations to those over 13,000 household consumers from the associations of residents. In the case of the legal entities, the total value of compensations stood at 25.1 million lei in last February.
Till 28 February this year, the household consumers paid 92.7 per cent of the invoiced sums, which is by 0.5 per cent more against the same period of the previous year. The enterprises from the energy and thermal sectors from Moldova paid the invoices at the level of 50.2 per cent.
A number of 374 consumption units were disconnected from the natural gas distribution network, as the debts of their holders amount to about seven million lei.
