Traffic measuring system to be set in Moldova

Chisinau, 14 July /MOLDPRES/ - The state enterprise, State Administration of Roads, (ASD) has started a project for the implementation of a system of measuring the intensity of traffic on the national roads. The duration of carrying out the contractual works is till 31 July 2022. 

“The project comprises 15 units of video analysis for monitoring objects (transport units) and assesses their trajectory in real time, according to more categories,’’ ASD said today. According to the quoted source, it is about bicycle, motorcycle; touring cars; trucks; buses; articulated vehicles (trailers and tows).  

“The main benefits of the implementation of this project are as follows: development and modernization of infrastructure, cutting the number of accidents, safety of the participants in the traffic, fluent road traffic,’’ roadmen said.

The project will cost 1.8 million lei (about 100,000 euros), with the sum fully financed from the Road Fund’s means.
