Moldovan PM has talks with Latvia’s Foreign Affairs Minister
Prime Minister Vasile Tofan has had a meeting with Latvia’s Foreign Affairs Minister Baiba Braže. The discussions focused on developments in the European integration path of Moldova, Moldovan-Latvian cooperation and the development of economic relations between the two states.
The PM appreciated Latvia’s constant support for the European course of Moldova, noting that the country is ready to advance in the accession negotiations, based on the progress made and the commitments fulfilled.
During the meeting, the sides also addressed issues related to the implementation of the Growth Plan for Moldova, cooperation in the field of digital transformation, strengthening cybersecurity, as well as support for Ukraine in the context of the Russian Federation’s war of aggression.
For her part, Latvia’s foreign affairs minister reaffirmed her country’s support for the European path of Moldova and its readiness to continue cooperation in priority areas.
At the same time, the interlocutors reiterated their firm support for Ukraine and the need to continue joint efforts for the security and stability of the region, in the context of Russia’s war of aggression.
