Moldova's PM, Ambassador of Ukraine discuss strengthening Moldovan-Ukrainian relations
The bilateral collaboration between Moldova and Ukraine and the importance of its continuation in key sectors today was discussed at a meeting between Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu and Ukrainian Ambassador to Rohovei Paun.
The officials expressed openness to strengthening political dialogue in the context of the shared objective of European integration, as well as supporting the development of democratic processes. The dialogue also referred to cooperation in the energy, humanitarian, economic and infrastructure sectors.
During the discussions, Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu expressed support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the neighboring state, condemning the Russian aggression against Ukraine: "We stand in solidarity with the Ukrainian people, who fight for humanity and regional security."
For his part, the Ukrainian diplomat congratulated Alexandru Munteanu on his appointment as prime minister and wished him success in achieving the set priorities, especially the major objective of the country’s European integration, which is in fact a common goal for both states.
"The parliamentary elections confirmed the will of the Moldovan citizens for integration into the European Union and you have shown resilience against Russian challenges," said the Ukrainian Ambassador in Chisinau.
