First meeting of governmental commission for European integration, chaired by PM Dorin Recean, held at government's headquarters
Chisinau, 14 April /MOLDPRES/ - The first meeting of the governmental commission for European integration, chaired by Prime Minister Dorin Recean, was held at the government’s headquarters today, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
Two subjects were on the meeting’s agenda: examining Moldova’s contribution to the European Commission’s annual extension package and providing the increase for the carrying out of the priority tasks, in the context of the implementation of the requirements on accession to EU.
The PM thanked the decision-makers from the national institutions for the effort made in the process of elaboration of the national contribution and stressed the need to speed up all processes dealing with the fulfillment of the European Commission’s recommendations.
„We accelerate the process of edifying Europe at home. The transposition of the European directives into the national legislation is not a process of copying the text, but adjusting to our realities, including with the stipulation of the transition periods. The citizens, business people, the national institutions which should also go through this transformation, are behind us,’’ Prime Minister Dorin Recean said.
At the commission’s meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Nicu Popescu referred to the progress made so far, as well as to the present constraints. He also highlighted the importance of nominating, in the nearest time, of one representative from the leadership of each ministry, which is to be involved exclusively in the European integration process.
„All those 35 sectoral working groups are operational, which are organized according to the political criterion, economic criterion and those 33 chapters of EU’s legislation. The inter-institutional coordination group, which convened on 3 March and 12 April 2023, is operational,’’ Minister Nicu Popescu said.
The commission members approved Moldova’s contribution to the European Commission’s extension package for 2023 and adopted the decision to establish the list and the maximal number of people, estimated per one public authority, in the context of the implementation of the efforts of accession to EU. The promotion of the allocation of financial resources is to be adopted at cabinet meeting.
