Moldovan deputy PM for reintegration meets Baltic States’ parliament speakers
The Transnistrian settlement process, regional developments and the multilateral assistance provided to residents from the left bank of the Dniester River and within the Security Zone have been discussed at a meeting of Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Valeriu Chiveri, with a delegation of the parliaments of the Baltic States, led by the President of the Riigikogu of Estonia Lauri Hussar, Speaker of the Saeima of Latvia Daiga Mieriņa and Speaker of the Seimas of Lithuania Juozas Olekas.
During the dialogue, the sides highlighted the importance of maintaining external support for initiatives aimed at improving the living conditions of citizens on both banks of Dniester, as well as for promoting confidence-building activities and the dissemination of democratic values, properly informing the public about the essence and benefits of the country’s reintegration policies and supporting governmental efforts to restore unified national spaces.
The representatives of the parliaments of the Baltic States welcomed the progress made by the national public authorities in the area of social and economic reintegration policies. They also emphasized their readiness to strengthen cooperation in various fields of common interest, and reaffirmed their firm support for the priorities promoted by Moldova’s government.
