
Moldovan acting PM has meeting with U.S. Ambassador
Chisinau, 20 January /MOLDPRES/ - Acting Prime Minister Aureliu Ciocoi on 19 January received Ambassador of the United States to Moldova Dereck Hogan. The officials discussed up-to-date subjects, including the Moldovan-American relations. The sides put emphasis on the interest in the implementation of priority bilateral projects and turning to good account the potential of the Strategic Dialogue between Moldova and the USA, the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry’s (MAEIE) press service has reported.
At the meeting held at the government, Aureliu Ciocoi expressed appreciation to the American side for the constant support of the democratic transformations in Moldova, the reforms’ agenda and the European integration aspirations. In particular, the acting prime minister highlighted the assistance provided to Moldova for combating the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic and the social and economic redressing.
The officials exchanged opinions on the domestic political processes. The acting PM reconfirmed the present government’s determination to ensure the continuity of management of the current activities till a new cabinet is sworn in office.
A foremost goal in this respect is the implementation of the national plan on anti-Covid-19 immunization, in order to reduce the morbidity and death rate triggered by the coronavirus infection. The sides also highly appreciated the foreign partners’ contribution to strengthening the national health system, including the one of the United States.
