Moldovan foreign affairs minister has meeting with acting President of Romanian Senate in Bucharest

Chisinau, 30 November /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Nicu Popescu has had a meeting with acting President of the Romanian Senate Alina-Ștefania Gorghiu in Bucharest.   

According to the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry’s (MAEIE) press serviced, the dialogue was focused on the emergency of ensuring the energy efficiency, against the background of the dramatic implications of Russia’s brutal war against Ukraine, the need to implement joint infrastructure projects, as well as ways of strengthening the bilateral dialogue, including in the parliamentary sector, for the advancement of Moldova’s irreversible European integration.   

Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Nicu Popescu  expressed gratitude to the acting president of the Romanian Senate for Romania’s every support to settle the consequences of the energy crisis.  

Each citizen of Moldova has electricity in his/her home due to Romania.  

„I also discussed with the Romanian official the security challenges triggered by Russia’s unjust war in Ukraine.  

This time, I received a firm and clear-cut message of Moldova’s support in our process of European modernization and enhancing the resilience to the current challenges, together and along with Romania.  

The advancement of the parliamentary dialogue, including the promotion of cultural projects, will be the subject of discussions during the visit by Mrs. president of the Romanian Senate to Chisinau later this week,’’ the Moldovan official added.
