Moldovan foreign affairs minister says leadership to work with same dynamism to bring Moldova in EU
Chisinau, 25 April /MOLDPRES/ - The Moldovan diplomacy head, Nicu Popescu, has given a news conference. At the event, he referred to Moldova’s contributions to EU’s Enlargement Package for 2023, the status of the implementation of those nine recommendations of the European Commission, as well as to the recent decisions by EU’s Foreign Affairs Council (FAC), which regard Moldova, the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry’s (MAEIE) press service has reported.
„I explained in detail the progress made by the authorities on each of those nine recommendations and we can say that a good deal of them have been already fulfilled. At the same time, certain processes, such as the justice reform and de-oligarchization, will last and any progress in this respect is absolutely crucial for our European future.
I also welcomed the recent decision by the EU’s Foreign Affairs Council to detach to Moldova a civilian counseling mission under the aegis of the Common Security and Defence Policy, as well as to create a regime of EU’s sanctions to counteract actions of destabilization against Moldova.
The participants in the FAC meeting also ruled to provide 40 million euros, through the European Peace Facility, in order to strengthen Moldova’s defence capacities. I expressed our appreciation for the constant support provided by EU and emphasized that we will continue working with the same resoluteness to bring Moldova into the European Union,’’ Minister Nicu Popescu said.
