
Moldovan foreign ministry issues travel warning for Bulgaria
Chisinau, 4 December /MOLDPRES/ - The Foreign and European Integration Ministry (MAEIE) informs that, in the wake heavy rains in Bulgaria, more reservoirs from Haskovo region, southern Bulgaria, overflew and caused floods in the area, the Foreign and European Integration Ministry’s information and media communication service has reported.
In the context, the Kapitan Andreevo border checkpoint point at the frontier with Turkey was closed and the Bulgarian authorities recommend using the bypass Harmanli – Elhovo – Lesovo border checkpoint.
Given the bad weather conditions in Bulgaria, MAEIE recommends Moldovan citizens and carriers to avoid, as far as possible, trips to the aforementioned regions.
The Moldovans in difficulty in Bulgaria may appeal to Moldova’s embassy in Sofia for the necessary assistance, as well as to the MAEIE General Department of Consular Affairs.
