
Moldovan head of state, opinion leaders from online environment discuss need to strengthen efforts of helping refugees
Chisinau, 26 February /MOLDPRES/ - The strengthening of efforts to help the refugees from Ukraine, so that the authorities and the citizens fulfill their needs as exactly as possible, as well as the combating of false information from the virtual space – these subjects were discussed by President Maia Sandu and more opinion leaders, founders or managers of online media platforms today afternoon, the presidential press service has reported.
The head of state spoke about the actions undertaken by the central and local authorities, in order to provide the best conditions for the refugees. In the context, President Maia Sandu appreciated the impressive mobilization of citizens from all over Moldova and thanked those present for the multiplication of relevant information on this subject. At the same time, the head of state urged them to distribute in their online communities only truthful information, from official sources, to report and combat the false news, which might frighten the people and not to allow the discourse of hatred, especially on this period.
The participants in the discussion came up with more proposals meant to make their communication with the authorities better and thus to make sure that the citizens’ efforts to support the refugees are directed exactly where there is great need of help.
