Moldovan PM discusses regional development projects with central district authorities
Chisinau, 19 October /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Ion Chicu today had a working meeting with the head of the central Criuleni district, Pavel Spinu, and the mayor of the Criuleni town, Mihail Sclifos. The sides discussed the region’s development projects, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
The PM was informed that the district administration had identified a ground with an area of 20 hectares meant for the construction of the Multifunctional Industrial Platform (PIM). The ground has a friendly location, at the intersection of two international roads and with access to communication networks. In the context, the district’s head says that support is needed to speed up the process of Platform’s development.
Also, the sides discussed problems of the district authorities as to the procrastination of the works of construction of a water purifying station in the region. The Criuleni district’s leadership suggests to the government that additional financial means be stipulated for finishing the project. The prime minister noted that he would ask the Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment Ministry to consider the case in detail and the cabinet will identify the resources needed.
The officials exchanged opinions on local public authorities’ (APL) initiative to create, based on a former vocational school, a business incubator in the region, as well as to transform the headquarters of the former maternity hospital, with a capacity of 600 rooms, into a placement centre for old people. The sides also discussed aspects of a joint project with international partners, which provides for the setting up of a photovoltaic park.
As for the evolution of the pandemic situation, the head of the Criuleni district said that the medical units were supplied with the protection equipment and situation was managed efficiently.
The PM said that, in the near future, he would pay a working visit to the Criuleni district, in order to collect facts on the spot about the problems and opportunities in the region.
