
Moldova's president meets Moldovans settled in United States
Chisinau, 6 December /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu, during her working visit to the United States, had discussed with representatives of the Moldovan Diaspora on how things are developing in Moldova and how Diaspora representatives can help for the development of the country, even if they live beyond the Ocean, the presidential press service has reported.
„I met again in Washington Moldovans from the Diaspora, who during years have been actively got involved in projects and activities both in Moldova and the USA. We discussed the situation in Moldova, our efforts to preserve peace and advance on the way of European integration, as well as about the excellent cooperation with the USA,’’ the head of state stressed.
President Maia Sandu encouraged the fellow countrymen to invest in Moldova and assured them that the authorities were working for the country to become more comfortable for those who visit it and for those who live here. ‘’We also spoke about how the Moldovans settled in the USA can contribute to the development of Moldova. I told them that we would be happy if they invest more in Moldova and I noted their suggestions of improving the business environment. I encouraged them to continue promoting Moldova as tourist and business destination. As each time, I conveyed them that we are dearly expecting them at home,’’ the head of state said.
President Maia Sandu is on a visit to the USA on 5-7 December.
