National Prizes of 2023 year edition awarded at Moldovan government's headquarters
Chisinau, 14 November /MOLDPRES/ - The laureates of the National Prize of the 2023 year edition have raised their distinctions at a ceremony organized at the government’s headquarters, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
This year too, the winners were selected by the Commission for Awarding the National Prize, based on the files submitted. The prizes were handed by Prime Minister Dorin Recean, who appreciated the laureates for the promotion of the national values and Moldova’s image all over the world.
„I am happy that people from Moldova have talent to produce either art works or technological works, which enrich people’s lives and which are able to shape Moldova’s future. I congratulate you on these performances and I encourage everybody to bring value added in whatever sector they would work,’’ Prime Minister Dorin Recean said.
The following personalities were awarded the National Prize this year:
Ion Bors, producer, film director and Mariana Starciuc, script writer, dean of the Faculty of Theatrical Choreographic and Multimedia Art of the Music, Theatre and Fine Arts Academy, for the originality of the Carbon film, for the promotion of Moldova’s image, as well as for the development of the cinematography sector.
„On behalf of the creation team of the Carbon movie, we want to thank the state for this prize and for the fact that it was the first economic partner of the project. This is quite important, when one is at the beginning of his/her way and is trying to create something without support,’’ Ion Bors said.
Vladimir Palamarciuc, for prodigious activity, metaphoric and symbolic language of his work, which is emphasized through the joining of the elements of popular art with innovative elements of the contemporary art, organically inserted in traditional fine art structures, as well as for the promotion of cultural values nationally and internationally.
Larisa Turea – writer, dramatist, Master in Art, for the book „Cartea foametei”, (The Book of Famine), which evokes, both through evidence by survivors and through original archive documents, the phenomenon of the post-war famine on the Soviet period as instrument of reducing the resistance against the Communist regime.
Nina Corcinschi, PhD in philology, university lecturer and literary historian, the director of the Bogdan Petriceicu Hasdeu Institute of Romanian Philology, for works of literary criticism written with self-denial and for prodigious activity in the fields of philological culture and science.
Nicolae Leahu, PhD in philology, university lecturer, poet, critic, director of the Doctoral School of Philology, Faculty of Letters of the Alecu Russo State University of Balti, for Opera Omnia.
„It is good to thank those who trained us and help us fulfill ourselves. I thank also the tax payers who support this prize,’’ Nicolae Leahu said.
Ilona Stepan, university lecturer, artistic director and first conductor of the Doina Academic Choral Chapel of the Serghei Lunchevici National Philharmonic, first conductor of the National Chamber Choir of the Organ Hall, People’s Artist, for outstanding work and high professionalism.
„Thank you for this prize and you should know that the greatest happiness is for one to be appreciated here, at home,’’ Ilona Stepan stressed.
Veaceslav Sambris, stage manager, Master in Art, artistic director of the Public Institution Luceafarul Republican Theatre from Chisinau, for high mastership, promotion of the image of the theatre, art of play and culture in Moldova and abroad, as well as for the special achievements in staging plays.
The team of the National Centre of Space Technologies of the Moldovan Technical University, made up of Viorel Bostan, university professor, PhD in technology, rector, chief scientific researcher, project manager; Nicolae Secrieru, university lecturer, PhD, scientific researcher coordinator; Valentin Ilco, scientific researcher, Vladimir Melnic, scientific researcher; Alexei Martiniuc, scientific researcher, Vladimir Varzaru, scientific researcher – for the development and launch of the nano-satellite of Moldova, TUMnanoSAT, with missions of research from the International Space Station and for the monitoring, post-operation and promotion of space technologies.
„It is extraordinary for us to be here today. Usually, researchers and engineers get more seldom in limelight. This prize means that the engineering of Moldova has future and the researches will surely continue,’’ Viorel Bostan stressed.
The TeleFilm-Chisinau Department of the Teleradio-Moldova Company: director Mircea Surdu, the deputy director and producer, Leonid Melnic, chief film director, Eugeniu Popovici, editor Lucia Taut and cameraman Roman Gatcan – for innovative approach, perseverance and self-denial in work, substantial contribution to the development of the society, to the promotion of the moral and humanitarian principles, as well as to the consolidation of the values, heritage and image of Moldova.
The National Prize, worth 100,000 lei, is annually awarded by the government, as a token of gratitude for special results, with major impact on the scientific progress, which considerably contributed to the promotion of the country’s image internationally.
