PM has discussions with EU Ambassador to Moldova
The government will continue to prioritize the necessary actions, in order to accelerate the process of joining the European Union. Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu has made statements to this effect at a meeting with EU Ambassador to Moldova Iwona Piórko.
The ambassador reaffirmed the European Union's support for the country's modernization projects and appreciated Moldova's progress on its European path, as also noted in the annual EU enlargement report.
The officials discussed the next steps in the integration process, emphasizing the importance of reforms in the judiciary and public administration, promoting investments, stimulating economic growth and improving people's quality of life.
“We have a clear plan and well-defined priorities. We want to accelerate the accession process, so that we finalize the negotiations by 2028. The Growth Plan for Moldova, provided by the European Union, will help us build better conditions for citizens here at home,” said Prime Minister Munteanu.
The European Commission on November 5 presented the 2025 Enlargement Report, which recognizes Moldova's progress in the European integration process. The country has recorded the biggest leap in its level of preparedness for EU accession in the last year.
