Moldovan PM: “Today we bow our heads before the victims of the Holocaust, but at the same time, we raise our voices for the future”
Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu has taken part in the event organized in memory of the six million victims of the Holocaust. The PM stressed that the Holocaust was not just a page in history, but an open wound of the humanity, proving that evil must never be tolerated.
“We once again live in a world marked by wars, propaganda, disinformation and violence. We already know where hatred leads. We know what happens when people are dehumanized, when minorities are turned into targets, when silence becomes complicity. We have no right to be indifferent and to justify evil,” said Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu.
The PM also emphasized people’s responsibility to learn from history, to protect human dignity and to defend rights: “We bear an immense responsibility before our children and grandchildren. Today, we bow our heads before the victims of the Holocaust, but at the same time, we raise our voices for the future.”
The International Holocaust Remembrance Day is annually marked on January 27.
