CEC warning to PN candidate for MP

The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) today warned Nina Cereteu, candidate for deputy from Our Party (PN) to respect and comply with electoral legislation provisions so that speeches regarding managerial achievements are differentiated between personal and administrative accomplishments.

Thus, during the meeting, the CEC reviewed and rejected the complaint filed by the Action and Solidarity Party against Our Party and candidate Nina Cereteu, which cited the use of administrative resources, in the context of her position as Drochia mayor.

"The Commission found no evidence of the alleged misuse of administrative resources as claimed by the complainant in connection to the normative regulations regarding the launch of infrastructure projects, as well as the lack of suspension from her current position. Nevertheless, the Commission warned candidate Nina Cereteu to respect and comply with the electoral legislation, ensuring that speeches regarding managerial achievements clearly differentiate between personal and administrative accomplishments as a result of the joint activities of the public administration," emphasized the CEC.

Additionally, the CEC amended three decisions regarding the registration applications of candidates for the parliamentary deputy position from ALTERNATIVA Electoral Bloc, the Patriotic Bloc of Socialists, Communists, Heart, and Future of Moldova, and the Political Party RESPECT MOLDOVA MOVEMENT, which requested changes in their candidate lists.

The Commission also accredited as international observers and experts: 108 people from the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly; 217 people from the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (OSCE/ODIHR); two people from the Central Electoral Commission of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and 14 people from the European Platform for Democratic Elections.
