Moldovan head of state meets acting President of Romanian Senate

The Presidency of the Republic of Moldova

President Maia Sandu received acting President of the Romanian Senate Mircea Abrudean in Chisinau today. At the meeting, the two officials discussed the consolidation of the bilateral cooperation, the process of Moldova’s accession to the European Union, the management of the present challenges and the regional security.

The agenda of the discussions between the two officials was focused on joint infrastructure projects, improvement of the connections between the two banks of the Prut River and easing the cross-border traffic. President Maia Sandu expressed gratitude for the support provided by Romania, especially in order to overcome the energy crisis, modernize the infrastructure and promote the reforms needed for Moldova’s advancement on the European integration path.

The meeting reaffirmed the solidity of the Moldova-Romania strategic partnership, as well as the Bucharest’s consistent support for Moldova’s European integration way.
