Seven Moldovan MPs to pay study visit to United States
Seven MPs of Moldova will pay a study visit to the United States of America, as part of a professional exchange programme aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation.
The delegation includes MPs Stela Macari, Tatiana Rotari, Angela Cutasevici, Gabriela Cuneva, Ala Ursu-Antoci, Alexandr Berlinschii and Alexandru Versinin.
According to the Parliament’s Communication and Public Relations Department, during the visit, the lawmakers will carry out activities in Washington and in the state of North Carolina, meant to facilitate the exchange of best practices in areas relevant to legislative work and to strengthen cooperative relations with representatives of public authorities from the USA.
The agenda includes meetings with senators, members of the House of Representatives and of the U.S. Congress, as well as discussions with representatives of the Congressional Moldova Friendship Group.
In North Carolina, the delegation will hold talks with Secretary of State Elaine Marshall, as well as meetings at the state’s General Assembly, the Department of Commerce and Economic Development, the Supreme Court and the Electoral Board.
The study visit is taking place within the Open World academic and professional exchange programme, funded and organized by the U.S. Congress and the U.S. Embassy in Moldova, in cooperation with American Councils for International Education in Moldova. Travel expenses are covered by the programme’s organizers.
