
Moldova's Constitutional Court confirms results of parliamentary elections, validates MPs' mandates
The Constitutional Court (CC) has confirmed the results of the parliamentary elections from September 28 and the mandates of the 101 MPs elected in the new legislative body.
After more than three hours of deliberations, President of the Constitutional Court Domnica Manole, announced:
“Based on Article 140 of the Constitution of the Republic of Moldova, Article 4 paragraph (1) letter e) of the Law on the Constitutional Court, as well as Articles 125 and 126 paragraph (1) of the Electoral Code, the Constitutional Court decides: the results of the parliamentary elections from September 28, 2025, are confirmed and the mandates of the lawmakers elected in the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova in these elections are validated.”
According to the CC decision, five political formations have surpassed the electoral threshold and will enter parliament: Action and Solidarity Party (PAS) - 55 mandates; Patriotic Bloc - 26 mandates; Alternative Bloc - 8 mandates; Our Party - 6 mandates; Democracy at Home Party - 6 mandates.
The Constitutional Court also approved the lists of substitutes.
The CC decision will be submitted to parliament, the head of state and the Central Electoral Commission.
The decision is final, comes into force on the date of adoption, and will be published in the Official Journal (Monitorul Oficial).
After publication in the Official Journal, President Maia Sandu is to convene the new parliament in its constituent meeting, during which the Court’s final report will be presented.
The newly elected MPs will have ten days to elect the leadership of the parliament and to create the parliamentary factions. After the legislature is constituted, the head of state will nominate a candidate for the position of prime minister, who will have 15 days to present the list of ministers and the government programme, in order to get the parliament’s vote of confidence.
