All drone flights banned in Chisinau on August 27; warnings of Moldova's Civil Aviation Authority
All flights with unmanned aircraft, including drones, will be banned within the perimeter of the municipality of Chisinau starting at 00:00 on August 27, 2026. The restriction was announced by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), which warns all unmanned aircraft users to strictly comply with this measure.
According to the CAA, from midnight onwards any flight with an unmanned aircraft in the municipality of Chișinău will be prohibited, except in cases where the operator holds a special permit valid for August 27.
"In the absence of a special permit valid for this date, any flight of an unmanned aircraft in the mentioned area will be considered unauthorized," the Civil Aviation Authority specifies.
The restriction applies to the entire perimeter of the municipality of Chisinau and enters into force at 00:00 on August 27, 2026.
The CAA recommends that drone users take this restriction into account and refrain from conducting flights in the affected area without the appropriate authorization.
The Authority reminds that conducting an unauthorized flight during the period in which the restriction is in force may represent a violation of the rules applicable to the use of unmanned aircraft.
The measure is valid for August 27, 2026, when the Republic of Moldova marks 35 years since the proclamation of its independence.
