Moldovan MPs convene at plenary meeting

The MPs will convene at a plenary meeting on 13 March. The standing bureau has completed the agenda for the meeting due this week.

Thus, the lawmakers will examine, in the second reading, eight legislative initiatives. Among them, there are: a draft providing for the creation of a database of delinquent economic agents; a draft regarding the General Inspectorate of Carabineers; a bill aimed at preventing discrimination against the customers of  shops or online services. The parliament will also discuss a draft stipulating that individuals with severe disabilities from childhood and children with disabilities will simultaneously receive disability benefits and survivor pensions.

At the same time, the MPs will consider a legislative initiative on the obligation of applicants for licenses of connection for power plants with a capacity higher than 200 kW to provide financial guarantees for proper execution.

Also on 13 March, the parliament is set to ratify several agreements, including the Memorandum of Understanding with the United Nations and the Agreement with the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) on the construction of a new penitentiary in Chisinau municipality.

The lawmakers will examine, in the first reading, a draft on electronic communications, which provides for adjusting the national normative framework to the European legislation, as well as affordable roaming rates in EU states. Other legislative initiatives to be discussed in the first reading concern the evaluation of the performance of judges and prosecutors, as well as revising aspects of the legal regime of inheritance.
