Moldovan parliament has 52 friendship groups with other states

In the 11th legislature, the Moldovan Parliament established 52 parliamentary friendship groups with other states, aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation and dialogue on topics of common interest.

According to the parliament's communication and public relations department, the largest group is with Romania, consisting of 63 deputies. For the first time in the current legislature, a friendship group was created with the State of Qatar, and in 2023 with Morocco, in 2024 with India.

Additionally, the friendship group with the Southeast European countries was dissolved, being replaced by distinct groups for each state in the region: Albania, North Macedonia, Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Currently, around 40 countries have formed parliamentary friendship groups with the Republic of Moldova. These structures aim to facilitate the exchange of ideas, strengthen parliamentary relations, and develop joint projects in various fields.

The first friendship groups were formed in 1994 by a decision of the parliament, with 25 such structures being created.
