Romania’s PM sends message to Moldova on 35th anniversary of Independence
Romania’s Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan has sent a congratulatory message on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the proclamation of the Independence of the Republic of Moldova. The official emphasized that Romania had been and would remain the closest partner of the country because, beyond politics, the two states are united by the same language, a shared history and a common destiny.
Prime Minister Bolojan underlined that Romania had been the first state to recognize the independence of the Republic of Moldova, on August 27, 1991.
“Today, the Republic of Moldova marks 35 years since the proclamation of its independence. Romania was the first state to recognize the independence of the Republic of Moldova, on August 27, 1991. We have been and will remain the closest partner, because beyond politics, we are united by the same language, a shared history and a common destiny. Happy anniversary, Moldova! Happy anniversary to our Bessarabian brothers!”, wrote Ilie Bolojan.
The Republic of Moldova today is celebrating 35 years since the proclamation of its Independence. On this occasion, Presidents of Romania and Ukraine, Nicusor Dan and Volodymyr Zelensky, are expected in Chisinau, at the invitation of President Maia Sandu, to take part in the events dedicated to this day.
